As 2020 wraps up, I want to say thank you to everyone who has followed along and read my blog. 6 months ago, I would have never thought I would be where I am at today. Writing and creating content was something I felt I needed to do, not something I would love to do. Luckily, it turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the job.
To end the year, I wanted to go back and share my 7 most popular blog posts with you just in case you missed any of them. I hope they are helpful as you begin to plan for 2021 and the goals you have!
“When you look at the odds, it is so clear why you should play the long game when it comes to your finances. The best way to do this is by creating an investment plan that fits your risk tolerance and goals, and then just stick with it for a very long time. Then, it’s a waiting game that will almost certainly pay off.”
“People often wonder if now is the right time for them to hire a financial advisor. And if not now, then when? While almost anyone could benefit from working with a financial advisor, there are certain times in life where it really pays off to be working with one.”
“Remember, this isn’t a perfect science. Your goals, how you feel about investing and debt, and your risk tolerance all matter when deciding how to go about handling your finances. But, don’t let time go by and do nothing. Start now and be purposeful with your planning.”
“After reading this statistic, I took a minute to think about why this would be the case for so many people — and I came to the conclusion that the main reason people feel this way about meeting with a financial advisor is that most people do not understand nor have they experienced what it is like to work with a great financial advisor. People assume that they are going to be shamed for past mistakes, told to reduce their standard of living and to invest every extra penny they have. However, that’s not what it’s like in the slightest. In this post, I am going to shed some light on what it is like to work with a financial advisor as well as what the process is like in hopes that after seeing and understanding the process, you realize that meeting with a financial advisor really isn’t that scary at all.”
“It’s extremely common, good parents who want the best for their family but don’t understand how to do that financially. Managing your finances was hard enough when you were on your own. Juggling work, a home, and the never-ending activities that kids decide to join means life is not only more complex, it is also much busier. Let’s face it, you don’t have tons of excess time for financial strategizing. Here is an in depth resource to help you set up your family for success.”
“Hiring a financial advisor is a pretty big decision. This may be the first time that you are allowing someone else into such a private part of your life. You are looking for someone who is trustworthy, knowledgeable, experienced, empathetic, and someone who shares similar values with you — so how do you go about figuring out if this person you are meeting with is the right advisor for you? Well, the best way to get to know the advisor is by asking good deep questions.”
